Shortstop Miguel Tejada slammed a homerun and had 4 RBI and Jose Acevedo was great in relief at the ballpark where the Detroit Iron Gloves beat the SSB SSB Tar Heels 9 to 5. The SSB fans didn't appreciate the big day Tejada had. He doubled in the 2nd inning, doubled plating all three baserunners in the 3rd inning and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' (his 28th of the season) in the 5th inning. Detroit finished with 13 hits in the victory. The win went to Jarrod Washburn(7-2) who allowed 5 runs in 6 innings. Acevedo gained credit for his 1st save. The loss was charged to Dontrelle Willis(2-7). He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 10 hits and 5 walks in 7 innings.
